And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
