Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
