The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
All that is in the heavens and the earth magnifies God; He is the All-mighty; the All-wise. 1 O you who believe, why do you profess what you do not practise? 2 It is most loathsome in the sight of Allah that you should profess what you do not practise. 3 Truly Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure. 4 And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you harm me while you certainly know that I am the messenger of Allah to you?" And when they deviated, Allah caused their hearts to deviate. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people. 5 And when Jesus, son of Mary, said: "O children of Israel, I am sent to you by God to confirm the Torah (sent) before me, and to give you good tidings of an apostle who will come after me, whose name is Ahmad (the praised one)." Yet when he has come to them with clear proofs, they say: "This is only magic." 6 Who is more unjust than he who invents a lie against God when he is called to submit? God does not show the evil-doers the way. 7 They desire to extinguish with their mouths, the light of God; but God will perfect His light, though the unbelievers be averse. 8 He it is Who has sent forth the Messenger with the Guidance and the True Religion that He may make it prevail over all religion, however those that associate aught with Allah in His Divinity might dislike this. 9
