Nay! By the moon 32 By the receding night 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
