Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 noble scribes, 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
