The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to those who give short measure, 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 Nay! Verily, the Record (writing of the deeds) of Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil), is (preserved) in 'Illiyyun. 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 And its mixture is of Tasneem, 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
