Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
