The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 who taught by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
