(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 that they may understand my words. 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 Strengthen me through him, 31 And share my task, 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 "And remember You much, 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 We had already shown you favor 37 when We revealed what was revealed unto thy mother: 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 “You and your brother, both go with My signs, and do not slacken in My remembrance.” 42 "Go, both of you, to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant). 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 “Therefore go to him and say, ‘We are the sent ones of your Lord, therefore let the Descendants of Israel go with us, and do not trouble them; we have indeed brought to you a sign from your Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance.’ 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 Pharaoh said, "Who then is the Lord of you both, Moses?" 49 Moses replied, "Our Lord is He who has given everything its form, then guided it." 50 Pharaoh asked: "Then, what is the state of the former generations?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth, 52 The One Who has made the earth a bed for you and kept operative roads for you in it and sent down water from the sky; so with it We produced different pairs of vegetation. 53 (Saying): Eat ye and feed your cattle. Lo! herein verily are portents for men of thought. 54
