The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the Great News 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 Requital corresponding. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
