The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
