And to Samood (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; clear proof indeed has come to you from your Lord; this is (as) Allah's she-camel for you-- a sign, therefore leave her alone to pasture on Allah's earth, and do not touch her with any harm, otherwise painful chastisement will overtake you. 73 And remember when He made you successors after Ad and settled you in the land-- you make mansions on its plains and hew out houses in the mountains-- remember therefore Allah's benefits and do not act corruptly in the land, making mischief. 74 The chief of those who behaved proudly among his people said to those who were considered weak, to those who believed from among them: Do you know that Salih is sent by his Lord? They said: Surely we are believers in what he has been sent with 75 Those who were scornful said: Lo! in that which ye believe we are disbelievers. 76 So they hamstrung the She-camel and turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, saying, 'O Salih, bring us that thou promisest us, if thou art an Envoy.' 77 So the earthquake seized them, and morning found them in their habitation fallen prostrate. 78 Then he turned away from them and said: O my people I did certainly deliver to you the message of my Lord, and I gave you good advice, but you do not love those who give good advice. 79 And We sent Lot, who said to his people: "Why do you commit this lecherous act which none in the world has committed before? 80 “You lustfully go towards men, instead of women! In fact, you have transgressed the limits.” 81 And the only answer of his people was that they said, 'Expel them from your city; surely they are folk that keep themselves clean!' 82 So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who remained [with the evildoers]. 83 We sent a torrential rain unto the (unbelievers). Consider how disastrous the end of the criminals was! 84
