▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A numerous company from among the first, 39 and many from the later generations. 40 But those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand -- 41 They will find themselves in scorching wind and scalding water, 42 Under the shadow of thick black smoke 43 neither cool nor refreshing. 44 Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxury 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 It was they who said, "Shall we be resurrected after we die and have turned into dust and bones? 47 We and our fathers of old? 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 Will be gathered together on a certain day which is predetermined. 50 Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie! 51 "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. 52 "Then will ye fill your insides therewith, 53 And drink over it scalding water, 54 "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 We have created you, so why do you not believe? 57 So what is your opinion regarding the semen you discharge? 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 We have incorporated death in your constitution, and We shall not be hindered 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 You have known the first growth; so why will you not remember? 62 Ponder upon the soil you till, 63 Is it ye who foster it, or are We the Fosterer? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; 66 nay, we have been robbed!' 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Is it you who cause it to come down from the clouds - or are We the cause of its coming down? 69 If We so pleased, We certainly could make it salty. Why, then, are you not grateful? 70 Have you thought about the fire that you kindle. 71 Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? 72 We have made it to be a reminder and a benefit for the wayfarers. 73 (Muhammad), glorify your Lord, the Great One. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
