Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
