A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif, Lam, Mim, Sad. 1 This is a Book sent down toward thee, so let there be no straitness in thy breast therefor, that thou mayest warn thereby! and this is an admonition unto the believers. 2 [O men!] Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and follow no masters other than Him. Little are you admonished. 3 And many a township did We destroy – so Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong." 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 We shall recount (their deeds) to them with knowledge, for We were never absent (and saw all they did). 7 The weighing on that Day will be the true weighing: those whose scales are heavy will prosper. 8 And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. 9 And We have given you (mankind) power in the earth, and appointed for you therein livelihoods. Little give ye thanks! 10
