AND, INDEED, We have set up in the heavens great constellations, and endowed them with beauty for all to behold; 16 We have protected them from every condemned devil, 17 save him who may eavesdrop, and then a bright flame pursues him. 18 We have spread out the earth, fixed mountains thereupon and caused everything to grow to its proper weight 19 and provided thereon means of livelihood for you [O men] as well as for all [living beings] whose sustenance does not depend on you. 20 For, no single thing exists that does not have its source with Us; and nought do We bestow from on high unless it be in accordance with a measure well-defined. 21 And We send the winds fertilizing (to fill heavily the clouds with water), then caused the water (rain) to descend from the sky, and We gave it to you to drink, and it is not you who are the owners of its stores [i.e. to give water to whom you like or to withhold it from whom you like]. 22 And certainly We! We it is Who give life, and cause death, and We are the Inheritors. 23 We know the ones of you who press forward, and We know the laggards; 24 And surely your Lord will gather them together; surely He is Wise, Knowing. 25
