This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 And the satans have not brought it down. 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
