The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He who sent down the criterion to His servant, that it may be an admonition to all creatures;- 1 Sovereign of the heavens and the earth, who has begotten no children and who has no partner in His sovereignty, it is He who has created all things and measured them out precisely. 2 Yet they choose apart from Him gods who have not created any thing and have themselves been created, who possess no power over their loss or gain, or their death or life or being raised to life again. 3 Those who deny the truth say, "This is only a forgery of his own invention in which others have helped him." What they say is unjust and false. 4 They have also said, "It, (the Quran), is only ancient legends, which were written down while they were dictated to him in the mornings and the evenings". 5 Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed by He who knows [every] secret within the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving and Merciful." 6 Yet they say: What sort of apostle is this [man] who eats food [like all other mortals] and goes about in the market places? Why has not an angel [visibly] been sent down unto him, to act as a warner together with him?" 7 “Or that he should have obtained a hidden treasure, or should have had a garden from which to eat”; and the unjust said, “You do not follow but a man under a magic spell.” 8 Look at their various views about you! They have gone astray and are not able to find the right path. 9
