۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 So Firaun sent gatherers into the cities. 53 (Saying): "Verily! These indeed are but a small band. 54 And most surely they have enraged us; 55 seeing that we are, verily, a nation united, fully prepared against danger 56 Then We drave them forth from gardens and springs. 57 and their treasures and excellent dwellings. 58 Thus it was: but [in the course of time] We were to bestow all these [things] as a heritage on the children of Israel. 59 So they pursued them at sunrise. 60 And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!" 61 Moses said: "Certainly not. My Lord is with me; He will direct me." 62 We sent a revelation to Moses saying, "Strike the sea with your staff." The sea was rent asunder and each side stood high up like a huge mountain. 63 And We made the other party approach thither. 64 We delivered Moses and every one with him, 65 Then We drowned the others. 66 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 67 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 68
