Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the good, 3 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. 4 These are on a guidance from their Lord, and these are they who are successful: 5 But among men there are some who spend their time in idle diversions only to lead people astray from the path of God, and without knowledge, hold it up to ridicule: for such there is a humiliating punishment in store. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in his stiff-neckedness as though he heard them not: as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce thou unto him a torment afflictive. 7 Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. 8 To dwell therein. The promise of Allah is true: and He is Exalted in Power, Wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
