Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: my Lord! Verily I have called my people night and day. 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence. 7 "So I have called to them aloud; 8 and, behold I preached to them in public; and I spoke to them secretly, in private; 9 “I therefore told them, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord; He is indeed Most Forgiving.’ 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens, one above another, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 so that you may tread its spacious paths.” 20
