The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
