Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha'. Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 And if you ask them, “Who has created the heavens and the earth?”, they will surely say, “They are created by the Most Honourable, the All Knowing.” 9 (Yea, the same that) has made for you the earth (like a carpet) spread out, and has made for you roads (and channels) therein, in order that ye may find guidance (on the way); 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 And the One Who created all pairs, and made the ships and cattle as rides for you. 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
