▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Nay, I swear by the setting of the stars -- 75 and, indeed, that is a most mighty oath, if you only knew -- 76 That (this) is indeed an honourable recital (the Noble Quran). 77 preserved in a hidden Book which 78 None touch it except the purified. 79 Sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 80 Would you, now, look down with disdain on a tiding like this, 81 and your portion in it is simply that you denounce it as false? 82 Why, then, when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 83 And ye are then looking on. 84 And We are nearer to him than you are, but you cannot see. 85 Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed, 86 Bring it back, if you should be truthful? 87 [ALL OF YOU are destined to die.] Now if one happens to be of those who are drawn close unto God, 88 happiness [awaits him in the life to come,] and inner fulfillment, and a garden of bliss. 89 and if he is of those who are on the Right, 90 Then peace to you from those on the right hand. 91 But if he is of the deniers and the errants, 92 Then the welcome will be boiling water 93 and the heat of hell fire. 94 Verily this! this is the very truth. 95 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
