The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the books are spread, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the close of night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
