The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
