The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
