And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 "For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds; 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 “And give me proper fame among the succeeding generations.” 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 nor any loving friend. 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
