Hizb 46

And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 we are the rangers, 165 We glorify God." 166 They used to say before: 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
