(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 “And make my task easy for me.” 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 That they may understand my saying. 28 "And give me a Minister from my family, 29 Harun, my brother. 30 By him confirm my strength 31 And let him share my task 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 We had already shown you favor 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 when thy sister went out, saying, "Shall I point you to one to have charge of him?" So We returned thee to thy mother that she might rejoice, and not sorrow. Then thou slewest; a living soul, and We delivered thee out of grief, and We tried thee with many trials. Many years among the people of Midian thou didst sojourn, then camest hither, Moses, according to a decree. 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 "Go, both of you, to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant). 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 Answered He: "Fear not! Verily, I shall be with you two, hearing and seeing [all]. 46 They came to the Pharaoh and told him that they were the Messengerss of his Lord and that they wanted him to let the Israelites go with them and stop afflicting the Israelites with torment. They told the Pharaoh, "We have brought miracles from Our Creator. Peace be with those who follow the right guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 Eat, and graze your cattle; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 54
