The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta Sin. Those are the signs of the Koran and a Manifest Book, 1 A guide (to the Right Path); and glad tidings for the believers [who believe in the Oneness of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism)]. 2 who are steadfast in prayer, who pay the religious tax, and who have strong faith in the life hereafter. 3 As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. 4 Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. 5 Thou receivest the Koran from One All-wise, All-knowing. 6 (Remember) when Moosa said to his wife, “I have sighted a fire; I will soon bring its news to you, or bring for you an ember from it so that you may warm yourselves.” 7 But when he reached it, he was called, saying: Blessed is Whosoever is in the fire and Whosoever is round about it! And Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds! 8 O Moses! Lo! it is I, Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. 9 Now cast your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned his back in retreat and did not even look behind. "O Moses, have no fear. Messengers have no fear in My presence, 10 and neither need anyone who has done wrong and then has replaced the wrong with good: for, verily, I am much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace! 11 Thrust thy hand in thy bosom and it will come forth white without evil-among nine signs to Pharaoh and his people; they are an ungodly people.' 12 Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” 13 And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters. 14
