And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
