And whatsoever of affliction befalleth you is owing to that which your hands have earned; and He pardoneth much. 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth; and, apart from God, you have neither protector nor helper. 31 And of His portents are the ships, like banners on the sea; 32 Had He wanted, He could have stopped the wind and let the ships remain motionless on the surface of the sea, in this there is evidence (of the Truth) for all those who are patient and grateful, 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 And those who dispute (polytheists, etc. with Our Messenger Muhammad SAW) as regards Our Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc. of Islamic Monotheism) may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah's punishment). 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 and who shun the more heinous sins and abominations; and who, whenever they are moved to anger, readily forgive; 37 And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish prayer and whose affair being matter of counsel among themselves, and who of that wherewith We have provided them expend. 38 And those who, when great wrong is done to them, defend themselves, 39 Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. 40 There is no blame against him who avenges himself after he has been wronged. 41 blame attaches but to those who oppress [other] people and behave outrageously on earth, offending against all right: for them there is grievous suffering in store! 42 And whoever is patient and forgives - indeed, that is of the matters [requiring] determination. 43
