Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 and had not known my account. 26 Would it had been the end! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
