In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 As justification or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
