The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
