Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 Till an appointed term, 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
