The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 pay their religious tax 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
