۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Are we not then to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
