Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Ha Mim! 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur'an for a people who know, 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters, 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
