And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
