The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
