Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 CONSIDER this divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 2 behold, We have made it an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand; 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you, for that you are a prodigal people? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the earlier peoples! 6 And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him. 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 If thou askest them, 'Who created the heavens and earth?' they will say, 'The All-mighty, the All-knowing created them.' 9 (It is) He who made the earth to be a cradle for you and made in it ways for you, in order that you are guided. 10 And Who sendeth down from the heaven water in measure; then We quicken a dead land therewith: even so ye shall be brought forth. 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
