Nay! By the moon 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 About the guilty: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
