The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. 1 We created man from a drop of mingled fluid so that We might try him; We gave him hearing and sight; 2 We have indeed shown him the way – whether he is grateful or ingrate. 3 Indeed, for the unbelievers We have prepared chains, fetters and a Blazing (Fire). 4 Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms 5 a spring from which God's servants will drink, making it gush forth in branches. 6 They fulfill their vow and dread a Day the evil whereof shall be widespreading. 7 they give food, despite their love for it, to the poor and orphans and captives, 8 They say to them, “We give you food, only for the sake of Allah – we do not seek any reward or thanks from you.” 9 behold, we stand in awe of our Sustainer's judgment on a distressful, fateful Day!" 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that day, and gave them freshness and joy. 11 And gave them Paradise and silk clothes, as a reward for their patience. 12 Reclining therein on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). 13 Near them shall be its shades with its clusters hung gently down, 14 And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass], 15 crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. 16 There are they watered with a cup whereof the mixture is of Zanjabil, 17 A fountain there, called Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall surround them, waiting upon them; when you see them, you would think they are scattered pearls. 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. 22
