When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 And [as for] that favour of which thou so tauntingly remindest me - [was it not] due to thy having enslaved the children of Israel?" 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 [Moses] answered: "[He is] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them: if you would but [allow yourselves to] be convinced!" 24 (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not? 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 He said, “The Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them; if you have sense.” 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
