3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
