Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
