O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 This community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so hold Me alone in fear. 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 Is [because] We hasten for them good things? Rather, they do not perceive. 56 Surely those who live in awe of their Lord, 57 who have full faith in the Signs of their Lord; 58 who consider nothing equal to their Lord, 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things, 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller. 67 Pondered they not over the Word? or came there unto them that which came not unto their fathers ancient? 68 Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 (Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider. 72 (Muhammad), you certainly have called them to the right path, 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed their afflictions, they would still persist in their insolence, blindly wandering. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 when We opened on them a gate of severe punishment, they utterly despaired. 77
