Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 By the Wise Qur'an, 2 you (Prophet Muhammad) are truly among the Messengers sent 3 On a straight path, 4 A revelation from the mighty, ever-merciful (God), 5 [bestowed upon thee] so that thou mayest warn people whose forefathers had not been warned, and who therefore are unaware [of the meaning of right and wrong]. 6 Already the word has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe. 7 We have enchained their necks up to their chins. Thus, they cannot bend their heads (to find their way). 8 We have set a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and, We have covered them so that they do not see. 9 It makes no difference to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they will not believe. 10 You only warn he who follows the Remembrance and fears the Merciful in the Unseen. Give to him glad tidings of forgiveness and a generous wage. 11 Verily We! We shall quicken the dead. And We write down that which they send before and their footsteps. And everything We have counted up in a Book luminous. 12
